It is hard to ignore how many highly visible men in recent years (indeed, months) have behaved in sexually self-destructive ways. Some powerful men have long been sexually voracious; unlike today, though, they were far more discreet and generally used much better judgment in order to cover their tracks.

Of course, the heightened technological ability nowadays to expose private behavior is part of the reason for this change. But that is precisely the point: so many of the men caught up in sex-tinged scandals of late have exposed themselves – sometimes literally – through their own willing embrace of text messages, Twitter, and other indiscreet media.

What is driving this weirdly disinhibited decision-making? Could the widespread availability and consumption of pornography in recent years actually be rewiring the male brain, affecting men’s judgment about sex and causing them to have more difficulty controlling their impulses?

There is an increasing body of scientific evidence to support this idea. Six years ago, I wrote an essay called “The Porn Myth,” which pointed out that therapists and sexual counselors were anecdotally connecting the rise in pornography consumption among young men with an increase in impotence and premature ejaculation among the same population. These were healthy young men who had no organic or psychological pathology that would disrupt normal sexual function.

The hypothesis among the experts was that pornography was progressively desensitising these men sexually. Indeed, hardcore pornography’s effectiveness in achieving rapid desensitisation in subjects has led to its frequent use in training doctors and military teams to deal with very shocking or sensitive situations.

Given the desensitisation effect on most male subjects, researchers found that they quickly required higher levels of stimulation to achieve the same level of arousal. The experts I interviewed at the time were speculating that porn use was desensitising healthy young men to the erotic appeal of their own partners.

Since then, a great deal of data on the brain’s reward system has accumulated to explain this rewiring more concretely. We now know that porn delivers rewards to the male brain in the form of a short-term dopamine boost, which, for an hour or two afterwards, lifts men’s mood and makes them feel good in general. The neural circuitry is identical to that for other addictive triggers, such as gambling or cocaine.

The addictive potential is also identical: just as gamblers and cocaine users can become compulsive, needing to gamble or snort more and more to get the same dopamine boost, so can men consuming pornography become hooked. As with these other reward triggers, after the dopamine burst wears off, the consumer feels a letdown – irritable, anxious, and longing for the next fix. (There is some new evidence, uncovered by Jim Pfaus at Concordia University in Canada, that desensitisation may be affecting women consumers of pornography as well.)

This dopamine effect explains why pornography tends to become more and more extreme over time: ordinary sexual images eventually lose their power, leading consumers to need images that break other taboos in other kinds of ways, in order to feel as good. Moreover, some men (and women) have a “dopamine hole” – their brains’ reward systems are less efficient – making them more likely to become addicted to more extreme porn more easily.

As with any addiction, it is very difficult, for neurochemical reasons, for an addict to stop doing things – even very self-destructive things – that enable him to get that next hit of dopamine. Could this be why men who in the past could take time-delayed steps to conduct affairs behind closed doors now can’t resist the impulse to send a self-incriminating text message? If so, such men might not be demons or moral ciphers, but rather addicts who are no longer entirely in control of themselves.

This is not to say that they are not responsible for their behavior. But I would argue that it is a different kind of responsibility: the responsibility to understand the powerfully addictive potential of pornography use, and to seek counseling and medication if the addiction starts to affect one’s spouse, family, professional life, or judgment.

By now, there is an effective and detailed model for weaning porn-addicted men and restoring them to a more balanced mental state, one less at the mercy of their compulsions. Understanding how pornography affects the brain and wreaks havoc on male virility permits people to make better-informed choices – rather than engage in pointless self-loathing or reactive collective judgments – in a world that has become more and more addictively hardcore.

It seems fair to say that Jews do control everything. This should not be a surprise for Muslims as this was mentioned in their religion long time ago. The American foreign policy on war is also a Zionist agenga to control the world’s resources and have a military base in resource rich countries. These American military bases in foreign countries could be the so called army of the Anti-Christ. Furthermore, Hollywood was created to serve the Zionist agenda of bringing moral corruption in the society. Many Hollywood scriptwriters are Jewish who write corrupt movies which include violence and sexuality to morally bankrupt the mass population.

Contrary to popular belief, there is nothing wrong in being a Jewish billionaire. Everyone has the right to be a billionaire. There are many Muslim and Christian billionaires too. But when these rich Jewish people, begin to support Israel, create a demoralizing and biased media and dictate the American war policy, it becomes a problem which affects not only Muslims but also everyone else. It cannot be more obvious than ever, that Zionism is at its peak. There is not much you can do about it, besides sticking to your moral values and ignoring the negative mass media. Their empowerment will continue to grow and wars will increase. They only become powerful by making us weak. The corrupt Muslim governments including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Qatar and UAE have also made the situation worse by becoming an ally or allowing military bases in their countries. But one thing is for sure. It is the American community which is far away from the truth and the ignorant one.

It really isn’t an absurd statement. To anyone on the periphery, this is exactly how it appears. Women have to wear hijab; men don’t. Women have to cover from head to foot; men are obligated to cover from the navel to the knee. And the argument follows to claim that women in Islam are oppressed, while men are free to dress, as they like.

To anyone that may consider this apparent bias, I ask one question: Do you think God really would favor a man over a woman? Would Allah, the Just and the Protecting Friend, ask women to do something that is burdensome and free of any reward? To think in such a way is blasphemy, but it is also a testament of how well you understand your faith and Allah’s orders.

A man and a woman can never be the same entity despite being equal in status. We look different, think in different ways, and respond differently to the same situation. Allah has made men and women strikingly different.

One of the major differences is how we physically look and what we are attracted to. Numerous studies have shown that men are attracted to visuals, while women are more attracted to audio. Naturally, the pupil will expand when it sees something pleasurable and contract when it sees something that is not pleasurable. Often, the pupils of men will dilate, while the pupils of women do not dilate in reaction to the same pleasurable image. This inherent difference articulates that men are pulled more towards visuals than women are and it follows that men find it more difficult to remove themselves from such an attraction.

So why is that men are not required to cover what is haraam for a woman to look at? For instance, a man is not required to cover his chest and yet, a woman must lower her gaze, since it is a sin to look at the exposed chest of a man. The situation itself testifies that a woman is stronger than a man when it comes to controlling herself.

Allah, the Bestower of Form and the Fashioner, is actually honoring the woman by giving her the ability to control herself so well. In this way, one of the reasons why Allah has obligated women to cover would be because man may not be able to exert the same level of control as a woman. Without hijab, a woman radiates – biologically, receptors go out to attract the opposite gender. With hijab, however, the attraction is reduced dramatically and it is easier for men to go about without looking lustfully.

For instance, I’m sure at one time or another, we have looked upon an attractive man, whether purposefully or accidentally. It must have been hard for us to look away. But try to envision the task of lowering the gaze as twice or even ten times harder – that is, my dear ladies, what a man has to go through.

Another question- why do women have to pray behind men? It can’t be that women are less dignified or unfavorable in Allah’s eyes. It is because of the nature of man – he will lose himself and become preoccupied with other than that of his prayer. Women, however, are not as susceptible to this temptation and can pray behind men.

Generally speaking, fornication often occurs when a woman inclines the man toward something he already has a susceptibility to. If the woman is strong however, the man may have the desire but does not have the opportunity to sin.

So you see, hijab doesn’t push down on the status of women. The hijab serves as a protective barrier for not only the woman but also for a man, who is inherently attracted to the visual. Just imagine, the next time you step out without a hijab – you may be unaware of so much going on around you. Would you be happy to know the sins you have accumulated, the silent struggles of a brother who found it so difficult to lower his gaze from you?

You may be unaware, but Allah the All Aware, is not. There’s a good reason behind everything, just as there is a good reason behind hijab.

First of all, nobody throws a prisoner of war in the ocean. When they attacked Iraq, they arrested Saddam Hussein and put him to trial which is what the American law says. They did not throw him in the ocean. Secondly, when they say they threw him in the ocean for the sake of Islamic traditions that makes it even harder to believe it. Everybody knows American government and military does not care about Islamic traditions. They only care about Jewish traditions which is why they keep funding Israel. Thirdly, there are conflicting reports on what happened. First they said he was armed and fired at the soldiers. Then they said he was unarmed hiding behind his wife. How do we know what happened? If he was really unarmed, why did they kill him? Why not put him on trial like they did with Saddam.

The probable truth is said he probably died several years ago when he was suffering from kidney problems and was receiving dialysis. The Americans knew of his death but kept quiet until now when the elections are coming next year. If Bin Laden was alive now, he would have let other people know that he was. Either way he is dead and the world has to move on.

You might know that there was an oil embargo against United States from the Middle East in the 1970s. Most people around the world even the educated and well-informed ones beleive that the purpose of the embargo was to increase oil prices which is not true. Americans invaded Middle East in 1960s and created Israel. Arab nations threatened and not happy with the decision decided to co-operate and use their power against the Americans. Oil was the only power they had and still have which they used to get their voice heard. But unfortunately it did not work. The Americans were too arrogant to listen to bedouins from a desert.

The American economy was significantly affected due to the embargo. There were long line ups at gas stations which did not have gasoline. They were threatened and decided to do something to prevent this from happening in the future, but they were not willing to end their support of Israel. Instead they paid Saddam Hussein to create a fake Gulf War to scare the Arabs. When the Arab nations needed military protection, US offered their help, charged billions fo dollars and signed deals with royal families of the oil rich nations. Since then, there was no embargo but the stereotype still exists.

They issued a statement defending the use of the veil, which is not widespread in the small Balkan country despite it having a majority Muslim population.

The government says it plans to ban the use of the veil at elementary and high schools, in line with suggestions from the European Union, which Albania is hoping to join one day. The ban will be included in a draft law on education.

Muslim leaders issued their statement Tuesday following a meeting with the education minister.

About two-thirds of Albania’s 3.2 million population are Muslims. Religion was banned in Albania from 1967 until 1990 by the late Communist dictator Enver Hoxha.

One Group 4 Security Services officer has been suspended and others sent disciplinary letters for permitting eight inmates awaiting deportation to worship together during a special prayer service last Friday, workers at the centre said.

The detainees were celebrating Jumu’ah Salah on Dec. 3 at a chapel inside an immigration detention centre, on Rexdale Blvd., according to members of Toronto’s Muslim community.

The guards said they were told they’d be terminated if they allowed the Muslims to worship together again.

Inmate have dubbed the centre “Camp Gitmo” after the U.S. prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where terror detainees are isolated and kept separated from each other.

Centre workers and members of the Muslim community said the prayer ban against Muslims is discriminatory because Christian detainees are allowed to worship with a priest on Thursday and Sunday.

Anna Pape of the Canada Border Services Agency said it is against their practice and security protocols to leave groups of detainees in a room unattended for any purpose.

“Safety and security are paramount at our detention facility, and this situation constituted a breach of security,” Pape said Wednesday.

Detainees are free to worship and can congregate for worship as long as established security protocols are followed, she said. They can pray freely in their rooms at any time and prayer mats are made available to them.

But Khaled Mouammar, national president of the Canadian Arab Federation, called the group prayer ban a blow against Islam.

“If Christians are allowed to worship together then why can’t Muslims?”

Mouammar said. “These people are not being treated fairly and this is wrong.”

Muslims held in GTA prisons routinely face hardship from some guards who try to hinder them from saying their daily prayers, he said.

“Some guards try to irritate or cause problems for Muslims during prayer time,” Mouammar alleged. “They are not being given the same treatment as people of other faiths.”

Taha Ghayyur, of DawaNet, a Muslim help group, said the Islamic detainees at the centre are being targeted and treated unfairly from the rest of the prison population.

“Praying will only help the inmates,” Ghayyur said. “It will be better for the detainees and the centre if they get to pray.”

Officials of Group 4 and the United Food and Commercial Workers, Local 333, which represents the guards, refused comment.
